    Asking a workspace

Fibo does not work inside your workspaces. To find something out it asks the workspace's own agent for you, in a conversation everyone in that workspace can read.

    Why Fibo asks#

On its own, your Fibo knows only facts about your work: names, status and how much is waiting. It does not read a workspace's files. That is deliberate. What is in a workspace stays with the people who share that workspace, and anything Fibo does there on your behalf is visible to them.

So when you ask Fibo about something inside a workspace, it puts your question to that workspace's agent, tells you it has asked, and brings the answer back when it arrives.

    Ask a workspace something#

Ask Fibo and name the workspace:

    Example
Ask the Quarter close workspace whether the March file is final.

Fibo confirms it has asked. The answer arrives in the Fibo panel, marked as answered by that workspace's agent, with a button to open the full exchange.

While you wait, the workspace's row on Home shows Fibo asked, and the question is listed under What Fibo is waiting on in Settings, Fibo.

You can ask about several workspaces in one message, up to 8.

    Who can ask what#

You can only ask about a workspace you can open and that is in use. Fibo checks your access when you ask, again before the question is delivered, and again before the answer is kept. You cannot ask about anyone's personal workspace.

    What the other workspace sees#

The people in that workspace can see that you asked, what you asked and what the agent answered.

    • The question appears in a conversation titled Fibo, asking for and your name. There is one such conversation per person asking.
    • Everyone who can open the workspace can read it. Nobody can write in it, rename it or delete it. Only Fibo writes there.
    • If your question is about something Fibo notified you of, it goes into the conversation that raised it instead, where others see it in line.

Only your question travels. Nothing from Fibo's memory of you is sent.

The workspace's agent is told to answer the question and change nothing.

    What it costs#

Answering takes one turn of the workspace's agent, on that workspace's default model. The cost is recorded on that workspace. It does not count toward Fibo's monthly limit.

If the workspace is paused, it is woken to answer.

    If no answer comes#

Fibo tells you when a question cannot be answered and why: you no longer have access, the workspace was archived or deleted, its agent failed, or the organization's model budget is spent.

    Find an old discussion#

You can ask Fibo where something was discussed:

    Example
What did we decide about the Dallas rates back in August?

Fibo searches the conversations of a workspace you can open and quotes what was said, with a button to open the conversation. It searches only what people and the agent wrote. It does not see files, attachments or the detail of the agent's tool use.

    • Each time Fibo reads a workspace's conversations for you, a line is added to the Fibo, asking for conversation in that workspace saying how many conversations it read and for whom. It does not record what you searched for.
    • The search matches words. If you remember a different phrase from the one that was used, try the other wording, or ask the workspace's agent instead.
    • Fibo searches only in reply to a message from you.

Answer a waiting question from Fibo#

When a workspace's agent has stopped on a question for you, Fibo's message tells you what is being asked and shows the question's options as buttons.

    1. Click an option, or type your answer in the panel.
    2. Fibo posts it and confirms. If it could not be posted, Fibo says so and why.

Your answer appears in the workspace's conversation under your name, marked via Fibo, where everyone in the workspace can see it. The agent then carries on.

This works for a single question with a single answer. For a review, a question with several parts, or anything that needs a file, Fibo gives you a link to the workspace instead.

Fibo sends exactly what you said and adds nothing. It never answers for you on its own.
