Conversations
Talk to the agent in a workspace: send and queue messages, attach files, choose a model, and read what it did.

A conversation is a thread between people and the agent inside a workspace. Everyone who can open the workspace can read its conversations. Sending a message needs edit access.
Start and manage conversations#
Open Conversations in the workspace's left bar.
- Start one: click New conversation. It takes the first words of your first message as its title.
- Rename: hover the row and click the pencil. The title is shared by everyone in the workspace.
- Delete: hover the row and click the X. A deleted conversation is gone for good. You cannot delete the last conversation, or delete while the agent is working in the workspace.
A dot on a row tells you its state: a pulsing dot while the agent is working, an amber dot when it needs your answer or a task needs your review.
Send a message#
Type in the box at the bottom and press Enter. Press Shift+Enter for a new line. On a phone or tablet, Enter adds a line and the Send button sends.
Good requests say what you want produced, which files to use, and where to put the result.
| To do this | Do this |
|---|---|
| Send while the agent is working | Press Enter. The message is queued and runs next. Several queued messages run together as one. |
| Interrupt and send now | Press Cmd+Enter or Ctrl+Enter. |
| Stop the agent | Click Stop the agent, or press Esc in the conversation. |
| Point at a file | Type @ and pick the file. |
| Attach a file | Paste it, drop it on the box, or click Attach files. Up to 100 MB each. |
A draft you have not sent is kept in your browser for that conversation.
Choose a model and effort#
The model picker under the message box shows the model in use. It opens on your Favorites, then Suggested, then All models, where you can search. Star a model to keep it at the top; your favorites follow you across devices.
The model tagged Default is the one your organization, the service or the workspace has chosen. If you pick it, you follow the default as it changes.
Next to the model, Effort sets how much thinking the model does before it answers: Auto, Off, Low, Medium, High or Max.
Which models you can pick is decided by your organization. See Models and spending.
Read what the agent did#
There are two ways to see a conversation.
- Just the conversation is the default. While the agent works you see one line saying what it is doing, such as reading a file or running a command. When it finishes you see a one-line summary and its reply.
- The full working view adds the agent's thinking and every tool it used, step by step.
Switch with the Developer view button in the conversation header, or in Settings, then Appearance. The choice is kept in your browser.
Under each reply you see when it was sent, how long it took and what it cost. The conversation header shows the total cost so far.
When the agent asks you something#
The agent can stop and ask a question. A card appears with the status Needs your answer. Depending on the question you pick one option, pick several, or type an answer. Every set of options also has Other for an answer of your own. Click Submit when every question on the card is answered.
If nobody answers for a while, the agent ends its turn and the question stays open. When you answer later, the agent picks the work back up.
You can also answer a waiting question from Fibo without opening the workspace. See Asking a workspace.
The Task List#
Each conversation has a Task List button in its header. It shows what the agent plans to do, what it is doing and what is done, and it is where reviews appear. See Tasks and reviews.
Open a conversation from a link#
A link to a workspace can open a particular conversation. Links in Fibo's messages do this for you.
